At the Thursday meeting, when I said that even if you're not interested in photography, Charlie's talk would be interesting and entertaining, there was an intake of breath in the room! However, I don't mind guessing that some of your "other halves" are not wildly enthusiastic about photography, but they could well enjoy this talk.

Charlie Waite is a world renowned landscape photographer. He has had solo exhibitions in America, Japan, Australia and, of course, in London. He has written over 30 books and made many appearances on TV. His work is held in public and private collections, worldwide.

Charlie and Sue Bishop (who gave a talk on her almost abstract flower photography to RTPS not so long ago) founded the company Light and Land in 1996. Many workshop tours, worldwide, have taken place since then. One of the leaders is Joe Cornish. Last Saturday, at the RPS Travel Group Day, Joe gave praise and thanks to Charlie who encouraged him in his early days.

Charlie founded "Landscape Photographer of the Year" competition in 2007 with a prize of 10,000. This is for pictures of the UK. This has now been extended to the USA.
