RTPS runs 3 main competitions during it's season of January through to December, the 'Monthly Print and Projected Digital Image', the 'Closed Challange' and the 'Open Challange'.

The 'Monthly Print and Projected Digital Image' or just plain 'Monthly' as it is known by the membership, begins in January and ends in November. The Society is in recess for the months of July and August, so the 'Monthly' is therefore made up of 9 'Rounds'.
Broken down into two classes, Intermediate and Advanced, each member is entitled to enter a maximum of 2 images into their appropriate class. The Society then invites an independent judge to come along and score the images. The scoring range is from 1 through 10. The competition winner is the person at the end of the 9 rounds who has the highest score. In the event of a tie, the individual who has received the greatest number of 10s is the winner.

Our other 2 competitons are the Closed and Open Challanges. The Open being, as it's name suggests, open to all members, whatever their level of achievement. The Closed being limited to members who have not achieved either their Associateship or Fellowship of the Royal Photographic Society.

At present, only the 'Projected Digital Image' section of the 'Monthly' is available to view via this website.
