Teddington TW11 9NN.

Open daily 10am-4pm.
Admission: £4 (children free).

See the world through a different lens at Richmond & Twickenham Photographic Society’s annual exhibition at the Landmark Arts Centre in Teddington from 27 September to 5 October.

Once again the exhibition will showcase the diverse work of one of the oldest and largest photographic societies in the South East.

The event will include the Royal Photographic Society’s Visual Art Group’s own annual exhibition and a special display from members of Arts Richmond, making the event one of the biggest and prestigious photography shows in Surrey. Open daily from 10 am to 4 pm, with a £4 entry charge, children free.

Whether you are a budding photographer or art enthusiast, you will find plenty to inspire you from nature to architecture, documentary projects to sport and portraiture to still life.

One of the highlights will be two dramatic panels on the UK and US elections from RTPS member Simon Street, who holds a record breaking 10 Fellowships with the Royal Photographic Society, their highest distinction. Simon will reveal the stories behind the compelling images in a presentation at the Landmark on Saturday 4 October.

Visitors to the exhibition have the opportunity to buy photography prints and are also encouraged to vote for their favourite photography panel. Tea and coffee will be available in the Landmark café where visitors can watch an additional display of digital images.  A selection of greetings cards and second-hand photography books and equipment will also be available to buy.

Professional photographer and exhibition organiser Emma Durnford said: “There’s been an explosion of interest in photography over the last decade It’s a wonderful way to express yourself artistically, without needing to be a traditional artist and viewing the work of others is one of the best ways to get some inspiration.”

RTPS is a friendly club, welcoming new members of all abilities.  If this is of interest and you would like to find out more, then come along to the Prospective New Members Event which is being held at the exhibition, meeting at the Landmark Café at 2.30 pm on Sunday 5 October.

The events above are free of charge but you need to book your attendance in advance and pay the £4 exhibition entrance fee online.

RTPS, which is a registered charity, meets every Thursday evening in Kew (and occasionally on Zoom) where members enjoy a wide programme of talks.  A range of Special Interest groups are held on alternate months; the club also informally runs occasional photo walks across the borough and further afield.
