Held alternately on the fourth Tuesday of the month, run by John Phillips.
Members are encouraged to refine their work and acquire the attention necessary to make a successful photograph. Reviews often include post-processing. Includes all genres. All abilities welcome from beginner to external competition standard.
How the groups work
Group Facilitator John Philips explains:
“A monochrome image is either black and white or one with a single tone, often sepia.
“A pictorial image expresses the photographer’s emotional response to the scene in front of them rather than being a straightforward record of what is there or happening.
“Our peer review asks about your intentions when making the image, critiques the result and suggests ways to progress. We do not set themes, it’s entirely your choice what images you submit for critique. Club members are, of course, very welcome to join the groups for each meeting without submitting images. Just join us to listen and enjoy.”
