Chiswick to Hammersmith Walk

Wendy Akers led a group on an enjoyable photography walk from Chiswick to Hammersmith Bridge.  12 people took the opportunity with a start with a few hours at Chiswick House and Gardens, the ‘birthplace of the English landscape movement’.  The house is built in the Palladian style providing plenty of photography inspiration.

Next was the garden at Hogarth House, followed by St. Nicholas Church on the river where William Hogarth (the celebrated painter, engraver and caricaturist) is buried.  Photo opportunities were plentiful, including William Morris’s former home which is now a museum.

After stopping for lunch at one of the beautiful old pubs on the river, the last stop, was the Grade II listed Hammersmith Bridge.

As noted by Wendy, these walks are a great opportunity for members to get to know each other more, experiment with different styles, share knowledge, get inspiration from one another and, of course, have fun.

Here is a link to a wider number of photos on the RTPS site where you can find a good range of different photographic styles for motivation.  Thanks to those who were happy to share their images:
